We drove to Île Rousse and decided not to go on to Corte as the weather improved when we got out of Calvi bay.

We walked up to Occiglioni, pausing to eat lunch and watch a thunderstorm over the sea. There were good views from its cemetery, and we then climbed above the village to get views of Palmento. We descended through Poggio and Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna (where they were chopping down a tree). We found a very wiggly track down (marked on the map as a road!) and (turning down a lift a lady kindly offered us) descended by road. In Île Rousse we bought hot pains au chocolat.

We had dinner at Le Nautic again. This time Jeremy had the pizza Reine Blanche and Helen had a tuna steak - very nice. As we were finishing dessert the power went out (high winds as well as lightning) and we all sat in the dark for a while. The same thing happened twice more later on when we got home.
