This was our day in Paris. We pushed the hotel to the limit by having breakfast at 10.45, and then set off for our grand tour.
We started by visiting Notre Dame and the Palais de Justice. The Seine was very full - it looked as if flooding was likely. We had lunch in a little café called Forêt Noire, which seemed to be the kind of place the local businessmen went, rather than exclusively tourists - very nice.
In the afternoon, we visited the Jardin de Luxembourg, where there was an exhibition on the outer fence. Inside we saw the Sénat, where they were sterilising flower beds with an ancient steam engine!
We walked to the Panthéon, with its view of the Eiffel Tower. Being tired by then we had hot chocolate in a café and then went back to the hotel for a quick nap.
In the evening we went out for dinner in an Italian restaurant.
